You might want to mention, if you're not going to bake something with the discard, it can go into the trash, or the compost, but never ever down the drain--unless you like calling the plumber. Flour can clog a drain. It's not as bad as grease in that regard, but bad enough. And like grease, it accumulates over time, so everything's fine, right up to the day that it isn't. I've not personally had experience with that, but I know someone who has.
