Hi Laurie! While you can make great bread in a bread machine and it is particularly adept at mixing, kneading and rising dough, it does limit your options on the different kinds of bread you can bake. If you are only looking for different styles of sandwich breads, then a bread machine would fit the bill, but you would need to bake the dough in an oven in order to achieve a crusty hearth or artisan sourdough loaf.
