I grew up with Mom making American-style waffles on an Oster Gold N Crispy round model. In contrast to the Belgian style waffles, these were more shallow but had a greater surface area (maybe about 8 or 9"). I remember they covered our plates and were great, crispy bases for spreading out all our toppings.
Do you have any model recommendations for those of us who would prefer the texture and width of an American style waffle?
