Because this entire recipe from the flour choice, to the addition of the Tangzhong is making the cookie chewy, we would recommend finding a different recipes that fits your style better. If you already have a favorite recipe we'd suggest simply trying out chopped chocolate wafers in place of the chips next time and see how you like them (we think you'll have a new favorite twist to your favorite recipe). If you don't have a favorite recipe yet, we suggest giving this one a try: Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies. They can be baked softer with crispy edges, or for an extra two to three minutes for a fully crispy cookie!
