Not able to resist a new recipe, I made these today, the first day the recipe was published. So obviously my dough didn't get a 24 hour cold rest, but it did rest for several hours and I didn't have any spreading issues. Sadly, these were not a huge hit with my family. The texture is more like a cross between a cookie and a muffin, which my family wasn't thrilled with. And the large proportion of sugar made the cookies far too sweet for all of our tastes. I sprinkled flake salt on the second oven round to help combat some of that sweetness. I'll be sticking to my usual chocolate chip cookie recipe. Sorry!
