Hi Kgmom! Those last few paragraphs speak to using this method of reduction in recipes that do not call for reducing your pumpkin puree. If you simply remove the moisture from the pumpkin in a recipe that does not call for doing so, you may be removing too much moisture for that recipe to be successful. You'll want to add moisture back into your recipe with one of those suggestions to make sure the batter or dough has the proper consistency.
