Hi Kris, unfortunately, pumpkin and cream cheese do seem to go together particularly well. While we can't recommend a substitution for some of these recipes, you could certainly substitute another type of frosting for the cupcakes and another type of filling for the whoopie pies (check out our other whoopie pie recipes for some alternative fillings).
