Hi there and thanks for the question. We have found that the the best way to get rid of excess discard is to use it in recipes that call for it! Sourdough Crumpets are a great way to use up a lot of that discard. Understanding that not everyone will want to bake with their discard, we would recommend either throwing it into your compost pile or disposing of it in the trash as you see fit. Do not pour it down your drains.
