Carolann, I agree 100%. While the entire family always loved the taste of an icebox cake, the treat for the baker was that it could go from cookies and cream to sitting in the 'fridge softening in about 15 minutes. At this point in my life, I have the time to first bake cookies, but if I am going to spend that much time, I might choose to make something else. I only discovered the Famous wafers were no longer available when I tried to buy them on July 3 to throw together an extra dessert for the family Fourth of July Party. We had family visiting from Australia who had never had an icebox cake and we wanted them to try it. How sad!
