Thanks for this post. I always thought that cake had to be warm when applying a cake soak and since I usually bake and freeze my layers I never gave it a try. From reading the directions for a couple of the cakes linked to this post it looks like the cake an be at room temp when the soak is applied. Can't wait to try the next time I pull out a couple of cake layers from the freezer, let them defrost, and then apply the soak.
