Cake yeast typically comes in two sizes, a 0.6-ounce cake and a 2-ounce cake. If your mother's recipe calls for two, I would assume that these are the smaller 0.6 (2/3rds) ounce cakes. But it might take some experimenting to confirm that, so you might want to try a half batch first, Susan.
