Have you tried a *damp* tea towel? Soak it with hot water, wring it only mostly, then lay it over the whole bowl?

Does the dough get a dry skin on top? It does not.

Does the yeast slow down a little? Probably? Do I mind giving the yeast longer to work, letting more complex flavors develop? I do not.

Will I try one of your silly looking bowl covers? I don't know. Possibly.
