For our family preference, we do a 50/50 of real butter & shortening. Grandma passed on this variation to us as a kids baking with her and I’m glad she shared that with us. The cookies have a wonderful light crispy surface & edge with a plush but chewy middle. She also did 50/50 in semi & milk chocolate chips for differing surprise bites. Thank you KA for this experiment; was very enlightening!!! P.S. your flour is the only brand Grammy and my entire family uses! :0)
