I have been half shortening and half butter in my chocolate chip cookies for quite some time. I’m consistently told the cookies are delicious. The butter flavor is there, the cookies have crisp edges and softer middles, they don’t spread too much, size is consistent (I use a scoop). Also, I use 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup white.
