Hi Susan. If your dough was too sticky, using a touch more flour (or parchment) to get it into the rectangle shape would be just fine to do. I would suggest either leaving the dough for a bit longer in the fridge to firm up more (or you can place it in the freezer for a quicker set up time). Please do reach out anytime with questions!
