Hi Cindy! Great question. According to the manufacturer of this pan, they are metal utensil safe, however, we recommend being cautious when using metal utensils in any pan. You do run the risk of either scratching a pan OR dulling the utensil itself, depending on what you are using...especially if there is a sharp edge or corner on the utensil. A metal spatula to portion and remove your baked goods should be ok, but we would suggest using an alternative material (such as silicone, plastic or wood) to help preserve the integrity of the pan.
