It's really not kind to diss the appliances others find essential. I am sure your minimalist ways work fine for you however when temperatures are soaring above 100° for weeks on end in Gulf Coast humidity and grilling outside is akin to cooking in a sauna neither a good pressure cooker nor a quality countertop oven are superfluous. These amazing appliances allow the cook to create wonderful meals without adding excessive heat to the home and are absolute essentials in my South Texas kitchen! Chile in the Instapot, rice in its cooker, and cornbread in the toaster oven, no stress on the air-conditioner or cook what's not to love? I'll agree on the air-fryer though but only because a good countertop oven can do the same job better with more food, crispy frys without the oil yum!
