I'm a novice bread baker and have a very basic question. The dough that I turned out onto the counter to knead for the first proof was very tough. I immediately thought too much flour and not enough liquid. When and if this happens again, can I add water to the dough to increase the moisture before and/or during the kneading process? Thank you.
