This was a fun to read article, but I think it contains a lot of speculation and anecdotal evidence presented as facts. But one fact I think is definitely true is that biscuits used to be an exclusively Southern American food. Northern friends I've asked about it had never even heard of a biscuit until they came to Virginia.
