Having had severe CFS for 5 years & now dealing with recurrent episodes, I really appreciate your article. I learned to break baking down into steps: Morning - measure and put out ingredients to warm; afternoon - mix & bake. Cakes - freeze & frost frozen another day. Bread works great - pacing my energy with the rise & fold.
I was always the cook of the big celebration dinners but after CFS- we had a wonderful Christmas Eve Breakfast for Dinner with all of the family pitching in. I no longer try to do it all. The worst is the brain fog & the slowness . I'm not making lemonade from lemons but I have learned to humbly appreciate the steps; the prep; the organization and the slow art of baking. Thanks for offering an article allowing me to reflect on the changes CFS has required and my gratitude for the satisfaction baking offers me.
