I make homemade sourdough bread with King Arthur bread flour and love it! My starter is a liquid starter, which requires 3/4 cups sugar to feed along with potato flakes and warm water. What happens to the 3/4 C sugar in the starter? Does it all get baked in the loaf? Does the active yeast consume some of it? Thank you!
