Please forgive my ignorance, but I am trying to learn to use King Arthur Buttermilk powder.
My birthday cake was written down by my father’s mother in the century before last, just after the Civil War. It was developed when stoves were all woodburning and mixing was done by hand.
I put my King Arthur buttermilk powder in one of you spring loaded cannisters and threw away the package losing the ratio of water to powder.
I tried to find the ratio from King Arthur’s web site. The answer you gave on September 27, 2022, at 9:29 am leaves questions. My recipe calls for ¼ cup of buttermilk; two ounces.
To get two ounces of King Arthur butter milk I would need 0.4 ounces of buttermilk flour and 1.6 ounces of water. Is that correct?
Thank you very much!!
