What is the correct way to measure ingredients that can be compacted into the measurement tool? For example, unless the recipe calls for something different, brown sugar is usually measured “firmly packed”. What about things like corn starch, baking soda or powder, or cocoa powder? Acknowledging that you level the top, how do you do the filling? Should you fluff like flour, press into the spoon like brown sugar or just scoop and level whatever comes up in the spoon?
