Hi Jocelyn, it's hard to say exactly what went wrong with your cookie recipe without a bit more information, but it's possible chilling the dough a bit longer may have helped. Cookie dough can generally handle extended refrigeration (up to a few days), and if the soft dough was very warm, it might have benefited from a few hours in the fridge.
