I don't have brain fog, just distractions in my kitchen. I've found that setting all the ingredients I need to use on the counter and putting them away after using helps me immensely. It may take a little longer (although I just think of it as mindful baking/cooking) but my baking or cooking always has the right ingredients. A highlighter for marking important steps on a printed recipe also helps (when to take the dough out of the refrigerator for skillet pizza). I keep my printed recipes in sheet protectors. You can use a dry erase marker on the sheet protector for steps completed. Just give it a wipe when you are finished. I use this for the skillet pizza dough when I'm doing the folds. Works great for me.
