While I do not suffer from brain fog regularly, I can relate to everything said here. It is very easy to get distracted even if you are feeling generally okay. Looking through my worst kitchen failures, most seem to stem from insufficient preparation. Laying out all the tools and ingredients beforehand as suggested is a gamechanger. It prevents all kind of errors and is instrumental to stress-free cooking. Also, I never put anything on the stove without setting a timer - a voice assistant works great here.
