Hi Louise, our choice in speaking up boils down to this: The most important part of baking is that it brings people together in community. Initiating that connection is at the very center of who we are as a company. We feel that it’s particularly important to go out of our way to let people know that they have a place in our kitchen as their whole, authentic selves, where it’s not necessary to hide or downplay parts of their lives that make up a key part of how they experience things. We believe doing so contributes to a healthier, more accepting, and more rich community from which we all benefit. We don't see this as indoctrination, nor are we sexualizing baking; we are simply welcoming everyone to our table.
