I am so confused by the people unsubsciribing or boycotting the company because they mentioned queer baking on the blog. I ask with all sincerity, what are you afraid of? Queer people are as widely varied as anyone else, they come in Democrat, Republican, libertarian, socialist, rich, poor, any kind of body of any kind of colour. They hold jobs across every sector. They have existed throughout recorded history (Ancient Greece for instance). I cannot for the life of me understand what you think the threat is. Is it that they will steal your straight rights? Is it that you might see two men touching and feel yucky (then go home and watch someone’s head be exploded in a video game or TV show, without flinching)? Is it that the Bible said don’t do it, in which case why aren’t you following Leviticus to the word? Don’t plant more than one kind of seed in a field! Don’t eat fat! Don’t sit where a menstruating woman has sat! Etc. Gay people are just people. They see books, ads, TV shows etc constantly depicting straight couples and say nothing. Why when a queer person becomes visible to you does this require your straight commentary? Just let them do their thing, be respectful, think about times in your life when you’ve felt different and afraid. Just live and let live. No one is out to get you and ruin your straight life. Just repay the favour. Also, I can’t eat wheat flour, so hallelujah for KAF GF, from a company brave enough to let people love who they love.
