Thank you for this article. Sadly, I’m not surprised by the negative feedback to it. Being out, even in 2022, can be isolating, frustrating and even dangerous. I very much appreciate Camilla’s candor and can completely relate to what she means by having to repeatedly come out to people. I never realized until she so beautifully articulated it, but this is what I’ve been doing for many years now and it is still difficult. It’s difficult to know who will treat you with respect or who will suddenly decide they won’t serve you, work with you, or sell you their house due to “spiritual reasons” as what happened to my wife and I.
Thanks Camilla for living your life authentically and thanks to KAB for posting this article and all your thoughtful responses to those who decide to take their business elsewhere. Being queer, like being straight, is not political. It is who each of us are and all our differences and similarities should be celebrated. Cheers KAB!!
