I really admire your company for many reasons. The DEI, the 100% employee owned model, the B corp structure, not to mention a superior product. This commitment makes me love you even more. And my heart goes out to the PR person who has painstakingly replied to every ignorant comment with diplomacy and educational information.
For people going nuts about "genetically modified" food, literally all food is genetically modified. Corn does not exist in the wild because it cannot reproduce without human intervention. Have you seen what wild broccoli looks like? It's barely recognizable. There's a vast difference between genetic engineering (modifying on the cellular level in a lab) and breeding (human's choosing to breed two lifeforms to enhance certain traits). It's how we have dogs, horses, cows, all domestic animals and plants.
As for regenerative farming, it's farming that's been done by indigenous Americans for hundreds (if not thousands) of years. It's not new and was invented before Karl Marx was born. We're just going back to a better way of doing things than industrialized farming, which is depleting our soil of nutrients and our water reserves. Grown food is now far less nutritious than it was 50 years ago because industrialized farming practices are extractive and destructive. We are hurting ourselves with the way we do things. We need to look beyond just yield and consider agriculture in a holistic way or our future will be bleak. And there are many methods to choose from: no-till, silvopasture (don't worry about having to be vegan or eat bugs in a "woke" world), cover crops, agroforestry, etc.
And 2030 is a common goal for companies because it's one of the goal dates set by the UN back in 2015.
