Hi Maria, Thanks so much for this feedback regarding our communications on our regenerative agriculture efforts.
Because regenerative agriculture is as-yet unregulated and uncertified, we’re defining our own regenerative agriculture standards in collaboration with farmers and partners, working together to determine what changes truly makes sense for their land. Overall, our approach seeks these improvements:

  • Improve soil health
  • Increase biodiversity
  • Sequester carbon
  • Increase the nutrient density of crops
  • Build resilient farm ecosystems
  • Ensure farming community well-being
Because we source our wheat from all over the US, the practical applications of these goals will look different to each farmer. For instance, a wheat farmer in arid west Texas will be making significantly changes to their practices that a farmer in North Dakota or Washington state. Moreover, we're truly letting the farmers lead here. Instead of issuing rules of how this new type of farming needs to be done, we are empowering them to find what's best for their region, backed by a growing body of research.

All that being said, there are specific changes that will common across the growing regions. Our partner Regenified has more specific information if you would like to continue your learning on the topic. You can find that here: Regenified’s 6-3-4 Verification Standard

We're happy to share that King Arthur does not use any GMO (bio-engineered) ingredients nor products, and we do not and will not add insects to our flour.
