Yes, I discovered fairly early on that I do better with a thicker starter. Even in the winter, and where I live its winter, bubbles start appearing within a couple of hours of feeding it. I used to measure my flour and water but now, knowing how it should look, I just eyeball it.It's happy, I'm happy.
