Hi Stacey, we recommend feeding your starter twice daily when you're maintaining it at room temperature. Even if you're feeding your starter a little less often than that, if it is healthy and active, I suspect that it will respond much faster than discard starter used straight from the fridge. So, yes, the bulk proof will likely be shorter. However, if your starter has fallen completely since you last fed it, it will take longer than "ripe" starter to respond and rise.
