If you want a crispy bottom crust on a fresh fruit pie, scatter 1/3 of the recipe's sugar right on the bottom crust before filling. It will increase the heat on the bottom to crisp the bottom crust and eventually bubble up into the filling itself. Don't use the convection setting for this but just the bake setting as you want heat coming up from below.
