Hi Larry, you might want to place a towel between your bowl and the heating pan, and use the lowest setting on your heating pad. If you do have an instant read thermometer, check your dough temperature every now and then and make sure your dough isn't getting too warm. If you're keeping the dough warm in this way, I would still aim for the 75-78F range we recommend in the Desired Dough Temperature blog. The 90 degree goal would be more appropriate for dough that is sitting out at cool room temperature.
