Hi Rita, here's PJ's reply: "I put the pan on the rack. I imagine there'd be no harm putting it right on the bottom, though I don't think lowering it that little bit will cause it to brown any less quickly or deeply (if that's what you're after, less browning). Good luck, hope it works (or worked) out well for you."
