We hear you, Gina! Thanks for the reminder! The ceramic Bread and Potato Pot that we sell is definitely lighter than a cast iron Dutch oven (although still a bit hefty at 7 lbs). We also have a helpful blog post on baking in a cold Dutch oven, which eliminates the whole preheating empty part of the process.
