My pet peeve about this is when a recipe advises "preheat your oven" hours before there will be baking taking place. I have seen bread that needed double rises and step one of the recipe would say "preheat your oven". My advice would be "know your oven". If it takes 15 minutes to reach 350° preheat 15 minutes before baking.
