I have had years baking bread (50 in fact) starting when we first came to the USA from Europe and thought the bread here in 1971 tasted like cake! And having been raised in wartime years in England I learned to be frugal and one of those things was never just using the oven for one thing! My mother if she had nothing else would put a rice pudding in the oven after the roast for example. I use my toaster oven for anything that will fit in and have found several bread recipes that bake from a cold oven. In addition to saving money I can now count it as doing my bit for the planet!
