This isn’t specific to plastic but does have an environmental impact. Prior to the “shutdown” I was the queen of paper towels. I must have used two rolls a week! Since switching to inexpensive non-terry cloth “bar towels” in May of 2020, I haven’t used more than 10 rolls of paper towels in 2 years. I bought several dozen of the cloth towels and they just go into a hamper when too dirty or wet. Along with dish towels, pot holders, etc., at the end of a week or so I have enough “kitchen” laundry to warrant doing a load. The bar towels also double as a cover when raising bread. I think it was about $20 to buy 4 dozen of the blue striped towels.
