I use a lightly floured cloth napkin. After the bread is in the pan, I use the napkin to wipe the flour off the bread board where I shaped it, then lay it over the rising loaf.
I stopped using paper napkins about 20 years ago to reduce waste, so I have dozens of cloth napkins. If you don't, a lint-free dish towel works just as well.
