Hi Allen, yes, this pastry goes straight in the oven after scoring, poking, and brushing it with egg wash. A stick of salted butter generally includes about 1/4 teaspoon of salt, so 12 tablespoons (a stick and a half) would include about 1/4 + 1/8 teaspoon salt, but if you don't have an 1/8 teaspoon, a generously rounded 1/4 teaspoon should work fine.
