I have used the dough whisks for years - I have switched to using the long handled one more often now due to osteoarthritis. My biggest baking joy was in a log home we built ourselves in 1978. I was able to design the kitchen and a carpenter friend built everything for it including a kitchen island adapted to my 5'2 height. Baking everything was so much easier - especially kneading my special Cracked Wheat Granary Bread with flour from a 100year-old mill in the area. Now we are in a townhome and at age 81 I can hardly knead bread on the standard-height countertop. I have previously used a laminated kitchen countertop 30 inch section with backsplash (leftover from custom cabinet/counter jobs) from our big box home improvement store. I could set on the dining room table and it worked well to knead for baking and kneading; the backsplash protected the table and cleanup was easy and was easy to store on its edge. The price was right too!
