I have been attracted to rustic recipes for a long time. Less fussiness! This recipe hit the nail on the head for being simple and rustic. I made the first one for just my wife and myself as a test. I made two more to serve at Christmas then I just made two more for a recent social gathering which included a number of men and women who are excellent cooks. I could tell there was some hesitation but a few hearty souls took a chance and let their mouths taste the truth. It was all over in a short minute, I was left with none to take home! I served these on wood trencher plates, leaving the parchment paper on but pre-separated from the cake. Your instructions are perfect, yielding a satisfying, indulgent dessert which is easy to create. Thank you!
