I began using a cookie scoop for my cookies with both some snickerdoodle cookies and some molasses cookies. Both recipes call for chilling the dough before scooping them out. Excellent idea. A cookie scoop is a great tool. However, the slider inside the scoop can't seem to cut through the chilled dough when it's scooped out. I had to resort to using a spoon to dig the dough out. That's fine, I guess, but what I wonder is whether a different style scoop isn't available from someone. My idea is to press the dough out from the back. If the dough is properly chilled I would think it would be solid enough to withstand the force of the press and plop right out. More than likely I'm just missing a technique to using the scoop. Thanks in advance for your comments.
