Yes, we did this in kindergarten in 1952 in Minneapolis. The children sat in a circle and each got a chance to shake the jar. We actually made butter and enjoyed it on graham crackers. Also, we each were given a sip of the remaining buttermilk.
Our grandchildren will make whipped cream this Thanksgiving for Grandma’s pies.
