I was gifted a KAF sourdough starter and a KAF crock. It’s going well, though I’m not sure it’s ripe yet. However, I am unsure whether I’m supposed to wash the crock each time I remove the discard and feed the starter. I haven’t been doing that-just taking out the starter, leaving 113 grams, and then adding water and flour into the same crock. I read somewhere that not washing the container will invite mold. Is this true? I’d rather not have to wash the crock twice a day…
