Thank you, Rossi, for this interesting run-down! That’s quite a list, especially with the explanations (and debates) included. May I suggest Apple Brown Betty? If you did mention that one, I must have overlooked it. How a betty differs from the others, I can’t imagine.

You may be right about the name “grunt” running bakers off. You don’t hear about the English dessert “Eton Mess” very often, either.
