Nice article but historically weak. Dan Richer apparently is being credited with ideas about steel plates/broiler to make pizza in home oven. In fact, Kenji at Serious Eats has described this approach some time ago. In one of his many articles he credited others with originating the idea: "The folks over on the pizzamaking.com forum have been talking about using steel plates to bake pizza for a number of years, but the concept really hit the big time when Nathan Myhyrvold recommended it in his uber-cookbook Modernist Cuisine. " Not clear what priority Mr Richer has for these methods.
