For a cheap baking steel I went to my local scrap steel or similar steel shop, cut to measurement and asked them to cut a14x14 x1/4 inch carbon sheet steel similar to grills that reastaurants use for frying hamburgers

Treat it like a cast iron pan and just amazing results.
My cost was $15.
